An Outrage

According to the Times of Israel:

Senior member of Trump team said to tell Israelis: Western Wall is not your territory

In a bitter diplomatic incident, a senior member of the US delegation making preparations for Donald Trump’s visit to Israel next week angrily rejected a request that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accompany the president when he visits the Western Wall, and then sniped at his Israeli counterparts that the Western Wall is “not your territory. It’s part of the West Bank,” Israeli television reported on Monday night.

An official at the Prime Minister’s Office, apparently confirming the report, told Channel 2 that Israel has asked the Trump administration about the incident, and said that Netanyahu is certain that the comment does not reflect President Trump’s policy.

Nikki Haley: Western Wall part of Israel, US embassy should be moved to Jerusalem

The US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said Tuesday that the US embassy should be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, upholding a campaign promise of US President Donald Trump, and that the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem is part of Israeli territory.

Her remarks came amid an ongoing diplomatic spat between the US and Israel over whether the Western Wall is part of Israel or the West Bank — as one US consular staffer suggested — as well as speculation on whether Trump will fulfill his campaign promise to relocate the US embassy to Jerusalem, even as the president has since distanced himself from the move.

Trump is due in Israel and the West Bank on May 22-23, stopping first in Saudi Arabia. He will also visit Brussels and the Vatican after leaving the Mideast.

Muslim Imperialism Reaches the United Nations

UNESCO last August planned to vote on the historical status of Jerusalem’s Temple Mount and its associated Western Wall. Back then, this author stated that UNESCO’s plan was to deny any Jewish link to this most central of all Jewish holy sites, to trash a history going back thousands of years, and to claim the Mount and the Wall as Islamic sites.

Islam believes that it is eternal and had therefore preceded the other two great monotheisms, Judaism and Christianity, even though it was only to become visible to the world through Mohammad in the seventh century AD, but entitled to elbow out the two older religions.

Lies by UNESCO to rewrite history, erasing all traces of Judaism and Christianity to favour a jihadist Islamic fancy, were already under way in 2015. UNESCO fraudulently renamed two ancient Biblical Jewish sites, Rachel’s Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs — abracadabra — Islamic sites.

Historically, Islam did not even exist until the seventh century.

This is the history of Islam, how it takes over — with both hard jihad (violence) and soft jihad (usurping history, migration [hijrah], political and cultural infiltration), and intimidation (soft jihad with the threat of hard jihad underneath it). What is even more saddening is that often, as with this vote, it is done with the West’s cooperation and voluntary submission.

The Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron is now, according to this deeply compromised body, supposedly the “Ibrahimi Mosque,” and Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem is supposedly the “Bilal ibn Rabah Mosque,” even though it never could have been a mosque. As the saying goes, “calling a cat a pig does not make it one.”

Do Jewish people have a historical connection to Jerusalem?

MYTH:

Jews have no historical connection to Jerusalem.

FACT

In the latest propaganda campaign at the United Nations, the “moderate” Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas succeeded in erasing the historical connection between Jews and their holy sites by convincing the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on October 13, 2016, to erase Jewish history from Jerusalem by declaring the Temple Mount holy only to Muslims. It further describes the sacred Jewish sites of the Tomb of Rachel in Bethlehem and Hebron’s Tomb of the Patriarchs (revered as the burial place of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) as “two Palestinian sites.”

The Palestinians have denied the Jewish connection to Jerusalem for years. The history of Jerusalem is well-known and accepted by historians and theologians outside the Orwellian world of the UN. For centuries, the outer retaining wall for the site of the Temple has been referred to as the Western Wall/Wailing Wall. The Temple stood on that site until the year 70 CE, more than 600 years before the construction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Death Threats, Scandals, and International Condemnation: The Ugly Aftermath of the UNESCO Vote

The UNESCO vote last Thursday that erased any connection between Judaism and its holiest sites has resulted in scandals, death threats, and blatantly dirty politics. At least one country that voted in support just a few days ago is now reconsidering its connection with a resolution that rewrites the Bible.

After the vote on Thursday, Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, did not criticize the resolution in a direct manner, but her statements to the media indicated her disapproval with the wording that acknowledged Jerusalem’s holy sites as exclusively Muslim domain.

“The Al Aqsa Mosque [or] Al-Haram al-Sharif, the sacred shrine of Muslims, is also the Har HaBayit – or Temple Mount – whose Western Wall is the holiest place in Judaism,” Bokova said in a statement Friday, according to Haaretz.

“The heritage of Jerusalem is indivisible, and each of its communities has a right to the explicit recognition of their history and relationship with the city,” Bokova said in a statement. “To deny, conceal or erase any of the Jewish, Christian or Muslim traditions undermines the integrity of the site, and runs counter to the reasons that justified its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage list.”

US Lawmakers to UNESCO: Do Not Rewrite Jerusalem’s History

A bipartisan group of US lawmakers sent a letter on Monday to the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) condemning an upcoming “blatantly biased resolution” denying the historically Jewish nature of Jerusalem and its holy sites.

The resolution officially passed on Thursday.

The resolution, read the bipartisan letter, describes the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism, and the Western Wall, where Jews from all over the world come to pray, “exclusively as Muslim holy sites and referred to only by their Muslim names. When the Western Wall is referenced, it is only with quotation marks, implying that the title is unofficial and not based on historic fact.

The resolution would “diminish the historic and verified Jewish and Christian ties to the Old City of Jerusalem in an effort to delegitimize Israel,” the signatories charged in a press release. The initiative, led by US Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), was joined by 39 of Cruz’s and Ros-Lehtinen’s colleagues in the US Senate and House of Representatives.

“The United Nations’ obsessive hostility towards Israel will be on display yet again this week as UNESCO considers another blatantly biased resolution that unjustly singles out our close ally Israel with false accusations and criticism, and attempts to erase the specific deep-rooted, historical connection of Jews and Christians to Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital,” wrote Cruz in a statement.
