“Nick Vallelonga, the Golden Globe-winning writer of the critically acclaimed drama ‘Green Book,’ has apologized for a 2015 tweet containing a false, Islamophobic statement.”
The wording is true to form for Leftist propagandist CNN, but were Vallelonga’s words really “Islamophobic”?
In the tweet, sent to then-candidate Donald Trump, Vallelonga claimed he saw “Muslims in Jersey City cheering” when the World Trade Center towers collapsed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Vallelonga’s Twitter account was deleted after the tweet resurfaced this week.
So did Vallelonga flat-out lie to malign Muslims when he tweeted out what he saw? Or did he perhaps think he saw cheering that was not really happening? Strange. But Vallelonga sure followed up with what Leftists and Muslim lobbies such as CAIR want: he sank into dhimmitude, as most people do when bullied by the Islamic lobby-Leftist alliance, and groveled, pleading for forgiveness. At that point, truth be damned.
Donald Trump back in 2015 was also lambasted by the Leftist media for reporting that he, too, saw cheering, only, Trump didn’t back down (no surprise!):
Trump said he was getting an “unbelievable response” from “hundreds” of people who told him they also saw televised Muslim celebrations of the 11 September 2001 attacks in Manhattan.
“I saw it. So many people saw it. And, so, why would I take it back? I’m not going to take it back,” said Trump.
In a revealing followup, Breitbart provided nine pieces of documentation that vindicated Trump’s claim of Muslims celebrating 9/11, including a “CBS News report about “swarms of suspects” cheering 9/11 from rooftops. Vallelonga should have stood by his statement.
