Please send me, as a comment to this page, any old material you have for inclusion in The Daily Joke Alert - to help enable us all to have our fancy tickled regularly! Never mind the state it's in as I tidy everything up prior to publication. Don't let good material go to waste - and so much does. In the interests of the environment we should always try to re-cycle everything, especially jokes. You know that makes sense! You may find some historical stuff here, but this does not really matter as humor is fairly timeless.

  1. I loved this. Many years ago when I lived on Staten Island and worked in Manhattan…we are talking 1968 to 1972 – I had the most wonderful babysitter for my then very young son. As a single working mother, having someone like her was a blessing indeed. She was the quintessential Italian Mama and as soon as she saw how skinny I was….well…..the food kept coming and coming and coming. I continued to visit her until her death five years ago, and still she insisted on feeding me. I loved it. Thank you for putting a big smile on my face to day. Janet xx

    • I have only visited Italy twice and then only for business purposes, however I know exactly what you mean. What seemed to be the whole work force sitting round long trestle tables for many hours on end whilst dozens of food courses and litres of wine appeared like magic from nowhere. Amazing experience. I love this: Oyia Xx
