Netherlands: School replaces Easter tradition with celebration of Islamic Sugar Holiday

The “Islamic Sugar Holiday” is decidedly off-brand; the two primary Islamic celebrations, and the only ones that some Muslims say are legitimate, are Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. But it isn’t hard to see where this is tending. What holidays will this school be celebrating in ten years? Or fifty years? What Islamic hero will it be named after by mid-century?

The Theo Thijssen school in Amsterdam decided to replace the traditional Easter breakfast with the celebration during the Islamic Sugar Holiday, newspaper De Telegraaf reports.
