Taking a break…..

My Life as an Artist (2)

“People say that what we’re all seeking is the meaning of life.   I don’t think that’s what we’re seeking.  I think what we are seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.”     Joseph Campbell 1904-1987

Watch: Muslims in Britain say they have the right to impose Sharia laws

Sharia has no place in Britain. These Islamists claim that they will rule sharia all over the world because it is written in the Koran.
Under Sharia law there is no freedom, no equality, no women’s rights, no children’s rights, no minority rights.
Sharia law is incompatible with Western values.
The Western world must close its borders and deport illegal immigrants.
Sharia should be banned in any Western country.

“We Are Going to Burn You Alive!”

Jesuit Father Henri Boulad, an Islamic scholar of the Egyptian Greek Melkite rite, pulled no punches in an interview concerning the motives of Islamic terror and Western responses to it. “Islam is an open-ended declaration of war against non-Muslims” and those who carry out acts of violence and intolerance are only doing what their creed requires, said the priest. The interview continues:

Those who fail to recognize the real threat posed by Islam are naïve and ignorant of history, he said, and unfortunately many in the Church fall into this category.

Citing a letter he wrote last August to Pope Francis, Father Boulad said that “on the pretext of openness, tolerance and Christian charity — the Catholic Church has fallen into the trap of the liberal left ideology which is destroying the West.”

“Anything that does not espouse this ideology is immediately stigmatized in the name of ‘political correctness,'” he said.

The priest went so far as to chastise Pope Francis himself—a fellow Jesuit—suggesting that he has fallen into this trap as well.

Should Israel Ally with Saudi Arabia Over Iran?

Beyond the Cusp

There have been whispers that there may be a plan taking shape between Israel and Saudi Arabia to try and prevent the obvious moves by Iran to establish themselves as the hegemonic superpower of the Middle East. This has much to do with the Shiite Crescent we have spoken of at length which Iran has put together using the southern three-quarters of Iraq, Lebanon and the soon to be reconstituted Syria of Bashir al-Assad connecting Lebanon with Hezballah into the mix. When one adds Qatar and Yemen where Iran backed Houthis are winning against Saudi Arabian efforts, one can see immediately that Iran has all but surrounded Saudi Arabia against whom Iran has often claimed they desired the Saudi Arabian oil fields as well as taking control over the Holy Cities of Islam, Mecca and Medina which are also part of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian efforts in Yemen had…

Time for an Assyrian Regional Government in Iraq

When ISIS invaded Iraq and its Nineveh Plain in 2014, one of the most victimized peoples were Assyrians, a Christian community indigenous to the region.

After the defeat of ISIS, some of the displaced Assyrians from the Nineveh Plain finally returned to their homeland, but today, they are fleeing their homes as their towns once again become a battleground — this time between Iraqi and Kurdish forces.

The Assyrian-Syriac-Chaldean people have inhabited the Middle East since the beginning of recorded history. We might now, however, be witnessing the disappearance of this community. The end of the Assyrians in Iraq means the eventual end of the Assyrians altogether.

Terrorism Rant Over the Obvious and the Less Mentioned Truths

Beyond the Cusp

President George W. Bush set the bar low and in the wrong direction after the great terror attack of our time, the 9/11 terror attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, to simply continue on with our lives as normal. He started the message which has become ubiquitous with the aftermath of any incident, namely the “Islam is the religion of peace.” President Obama carried these ideals and messages to the next level when after virtually every terror act we heard the identical message from virtually every media outlet. The first item they would come out with was that each terrorist was acting as a singular event and thus was a “lone wolf” such that there was no conspiracy or driving effort behind each attack, these attacks always had nothing to do with Islam, and we were to be especially careful not to permit any act of terror to…
