The Hubble telescope is located outside our atmosphere, and is orbiting the Earth at more than 500 km above sea level, while orbiting the Earth every hour and a half, at a speed of 28,000 km an hour. Its name was given to it in honor of famed astronomer Edwin Hubble, and it was placed in orbit back in 1990, 22 years ago. It weighs about 11 tons but in space, it weighs nothing at all.
If you’re younger than 40 years old, you probably won’t understand this 5 second video!.
Its late fall and the Indians on a remote reservation in Mattawa asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild.
Since he was a chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky, he couldn’t tell what the winter was going to be like.
Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared.
But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the Weather Network and asked, ‘Is the coming winter going to be cold?’
‘It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,’ the meteorologist at the weather service responded.
So the chief went back to…

On July 15, 2014 I attended a clinical tail meeting with Lupus Research Institute LRI. The meeting was hosted by Diane Grossberg she was on a fact finding mission. She wanted to know what we as patients with lupus knew about the clinical trials. And how we felt about them. We all had basic knowledge. She explained that there are several types of trials. Clinical trials, observation trails and they all have different phases. It can talk a long time before a drug or treatment is ready for human testing.
Before the testing on lupus patients testing is done in the healthy population. This is to determine the side effects. Small sample groups are tested before the researchers are confident to test on larger groups of people. She informed us that although Benlysta is on the market yet it is still in a trial phase. They are reviewing the long-term…

There was a time when people dressed for dinner, dressed for church and most certainly dressed for balls and for proms. We still consider a prom something special and so we attire ourselves specially. Sadly, Maren Sanchez will not be dressing for anything anymore as she will be dead three months on July 16th, murdered by one of her “friends,” Chris Pakson who hacked her to death in their school’s stairwell with a kitchen knife. The two were sixteen years old.
Pakson apparently had a history of mental illness being described as a “hacker” – a person who inflicted knife wounds on himself. He also had been diagnosed with ADHD. The prosecution in Connecticut is planning on charging him as an adult after he undergoes a thorough mental evaluation. The reason for Maren’s death was that she rejected his invitation to attend their school’s prom.
It seems that even with…

One morning a blind bunny was hopping down the bunny trail, and he tripped over a large snake and fell, KerPlop!, right on his twitchy little nose. “Oh, please excuse me!” said the bunny. “I didn’t mean to trip over you, but I’m blind and can’t see.”
“That’s perfectly all right,” replied the snake. “To be sure, it was my fault. I didn’t mean to trip you, but I’m blind too, and I didn’t see you coming. By the way, what kind of animal are you?”
“Well, I really don’t know,” said the bunny. “I’m blind, and I’ve never seen myself. Maybe you could examine me and find out.”
So the snake felt the bunny all over, and he said, “Well, you’re soft, and cuddly, and you have long silky ears, and a little fluffy tail and a dear twitchy little nose… You must be a bunny rabbit!”
Then he said, “I can’t thank you enough, but by the way, what kind of animal are you?”
And the snake replied that he didn’t know, and the bunny agreed to examine him, and when he was finished, the snake said, “Well, what kind of an animal am I?”
So the bunny felt the snake all over, and he replied, “You’re hard, you’re cold, you’re slimy and you haven’t got any balls… You must be a lawyer.”
I have not been to northeast India which is secluded, wild ,devoid of architecture. This film shows a culture and place untouched by civilization. The shots of the beautiful landscape, the ancient culture, and the animals are truly beautiful. Forgive me for the length, I know people are busy! But here it is for you who are interested and have the time either a minute to the complete 52 minutes or something in between.
The beautiful video was made by Chriss Moon for The Disney Channel
Would you like to visit such a secluded place in the world? Have you been to a similar place or to parts of northeastern India?
Some of the students we went to India with, after the semester was over, went to the north. They were interested in seeing the Himalaya Mountains, though.
India is a microcosm of the world, land formation, weather, languages…
